Governor DeSantis Awards $8.7 Million for Hurricane Recovery Efforts and Workforce Education

Governor Ron DeSantis awarded $7.7 million through the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act grant program and the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund to support a credentialing effort between state colleges, technical colleges and local workforce development boards. Governor DeSantis also announced $1 million through the Florida Disaster Fund to organizations to support emergency management personnel, national guardsmen and community members in the recovery process.

CareerSource Florida Announces First Letter Grades for Local Workforce Development Boards

Florida’s local workforce development boards are receiving letter grades to help identify areas in which they excel and areas that can be strengthened to improve outcomes for job seekers, workers and businesses. The letter grades are among components of the state’s 2021 Reimagining Education and Career Help (REACH) Act to provide greater transparency and accountability in Florida’s workforce and education systems.
