Several of Florida’s top workforce, education and economic leaders gathered today with members of the CareerSource Florida Board of Directors to share policy priorities and deepen a shared vision for how to strengthen the state’s talent pipeline.
House Bill 1271, an act relating to state economic development entities, and its companion legislation, Senate Bill 1244, would modify the roles and responsibilities of the CareerSource Florida Board of Directors, CareerSource Florida staff and DEO to address requirements in the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
The Florida Economic Development Council (FEDC), the statewide association of Florida’s economic, workforce, and community developers, has announced today at a press conference held in the Florida Capitol the official dates for its annual Florida Economic Development Week campaign. The campaign, taking place February 9-15, will highlight the significant contributions that economic development programs and professionals have on Florida communities and families.
