Trina Travis

Trina Travis serves as the Interim Director of the Division of Blind Services (DBS) at the Florida Department of Education, where she provides executive leadership and strategic oversight of the state’s comprehensive system of services promoting independence, employment, and quality of life for Floridians who are blind or visually impaired. She previously served as Deputy Director, advancing workforce development strategies and strengthening training and employment pathways.

Prior to joining DBS, Travis held progressive leadership roles in workforce and economic development at the former Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (now Florida Commerce), where she managed large‑scale federally funded programs and advanced interagency partnerships to improve employment and economic outcomes statewide.

With more than 20 years of public service experience, her career has focused on expanding access to education, training, and employment as pathways to economic mobility for individuals with disabilities and others facing significant barriers. She is a University of South Florida graduate and resides in Tallahassee with her family.
