Companies can be reimbursed for employee training that’s focused on industry or business-specific skills, technical or computer skills, or foundational such as leadership, teamwork and management. Preference may be given to training that represents significant skills upgrades for employees and/or the greatest potential for impacting the business’ competitiveness.
This grant program enabled our small company to afford the training necessary to obtain the certification for our company. This certification is very important for us to be able to grow and compete.

Most companies that apply for funding will be eligible for reimbursement of up to 50 percent of their direct training costs. Companies that meet specific criteria, like having 50 or fewer employees or those located in a rural area/county, distressed area, brownfield or hub zone may be eligible for reimbursement of up to 75 percent.
From July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2021, the maximum amount a company can receive through an Incumbent Worker Training grant is $200,000.
