Field Experience and Reception

This special panel discussion, hosted during the CareerSource Florida Board Reception, will spotlight the continued recovery efforts in Southwest Florida following the devastating impact of Hurricane Ian.
FloridaCommerce Secretary Alex Kelly will open the session by sharing insights into the enhanced resources, funding, and programs available to support businesses and communities following a storm. He will be followed by Department of Children and Families Secretary Taylor Hatch, who will provide brief remarks on DCF’s statewide disaster recovery efforts and the role of Hope Florida in connecting individuals and families to employment, support services, and long-term stability.
Following her remarks, CareerSource Southwest Florida President Peg Elmore will lead a panel featuring local businesses, community partners, and individuals who have directly benefited from workforce recovery initiatives. These real-world stories will highlight how CareerSource Southwest Florida has helped businesses get back on their feet, restored jobs, and strengthened the local economy through strategic workforce support.
The field experience portion will take place during the first half of the scheduled time, providing attendees with meaningful insights into disaster recovery efforts. The final hour will be reserved for networking, allowing attendees to connect and continue the conversation.
