The CareerSource Florida Board of Directors today unanimously voted to appoint Michelle Dennard as the new President and CEO of CareerSource Florida.

“Over the past two years, the board has had the opportunity to closely work with Michelle as she led Florida’s implementation of the first major reform to federal workforce law in nearly two decades,” said Board Chairman Britt Sikes. “Michelle is the right leader at the right time to strengthen Florida’s national reputation for workforce innovation and ensure we continue to meet the needs of Floridians and businesses in the future.”

Dennard most recently served as Vice President of Policy for CareerSource Florida, providing policy guidance to the CareerSource Florida Board of Directors and its Strategic Policy Council. She engaged and convened partners in education as well as community, workforce and economic development throughout the state, and was instrumental in the development of Florida’s Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Unified Plan.

An attorney and member of the Florida Bar, Dennard has more than 10 years of experience in workforce and economic development. She is a graduate of the Florida State University College of Business and earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Florida State University College of Law.

“I appreciate our board’s vote of confidence, and I look forward to continuing the important work of the CareerSource Florida network in making Florida the global leader for talent,” said President Dennard. “Talent is the currency that will move Florida’s economy forward. I am excited to be working with our many partners and stakeholders to advance new ideas and initiatives that help job seekers and businesses.”
