This evening, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 20-93 directing all state agencies to provide assistance to the state Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) as it processes a high volume of requests for Reemployment Assistance due to layoffs as a result of COVID-19. The Governor’s executive order also directs the 24 local workforce development boards within the CareerSource Florida network to assist with dissemination and collection of paper applications, which will be returned to DEO for processing.
“With the unprecedented volume of Reemployment Assistance claims being filed as a result of COVID-19, we recognize the leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis in directing all executive agencies to support the Department of Economic Opportunity in receiving and processing claims,” said CareerSource Florida Board Chairman Kevin Doyle. “The statewide CareerSource Florida network is here to support the Governor’s order and assist Floridians in applying for assistance and supporting their families.”
