SUMMARY:Field Experience - Florida State Fire College
DESCRIPTION:CareerSource Florida board members and local workforce development board partners are invited to participate in an on-site field experience at the Florida State Fire College (FSFC) to gain firsthand insight into Florida’s premier firefighter training facility and the career pathways it supports. \n\n\n\nThis experience will include a guided tour of the FSFC campus\, including the apparatus bay where board members will get a close-up look at fire engines\, tools\, and gear used in firefighter training. Attendees will observe live classroom instruction and field activities led by instructors from Marion Technical College\, offering a real-time view of how students are trained for careers in the fire service. FSFC staff will also provide an overview of the various certifications available and the wide range of career disciplines firefighters can pursue\, including specialized teams such as Florida’s Urban Search and Rescue\, which was recently deployed to Texas to support flood recovery efforts. \n\n\n\nBoard members will gain valuable knowledge to support outreach\, policy discussions\, and partnerships aimed at strengthening the pipeline into Florida’s fire service and related careers. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMore Info
