CareerSource Florida Reports Helping More Than 34,500 Floridians Who Got Jobs

August 11, 2016

The CareerSource Florida network reported in July helping 34,593 Floridians who got jobs. The network includes 24 local workforce development boards, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity and 100 career centers throughout the state.

Local workforce development boards are ranked monthly based on several factors, including the number of job seekers who gain employment after being assisted in a career center or via, Florida’s job-matching and career development website; the number of available job openings in the local area; and the number of Reemployment Assistance beneficiaries who find employment after receiving workforce services.

The top three local board for job placements reported last month are:

  1. CareerSource Pinellas, which serves Pinellas County;
  2. CareerSource South Florida, which serves Miami-Dade and Monroe counties; and,
  3. CareerSource North Florida, which serves Hamilton, Jefferson, Lafayette, Madison, Suwannee, and Taylor counties.

“Every month, the committed professionals of the CareerSource Florida network help tens of thousands of Floridians connect with new and meaningful career opportunities,” said CareerSource Florida President and CEO Chris Hart IV. “We commend CareerSource Pinellas, CareerSource South Florida and CareerSource North Florida for their leading efforts in July.”

The network reports since January assisting 238,258 Floridians who secured employment, as noted on Monthly Job Placement Report developed by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. A person who receives employment and/or training assistance in a career center or via and finds a job within 180 days may be reported by a local workforce development board as a placement.
